Muller verwijst niet naar hem, maar Richard Sennett zou een mooie inspiratiebron geweest zijn.

Op de Webstie van Bo Gronlund, die grotendeels aan Sennett is gewijd, worden veel meer interacties genoemd die de stad haar betekenis geven als snelkookpan van meningen en modes.

Urban space has at the same time to be seen as a forum for discourse (talk). To Sennett the most important element of exchange in the city is talk. Urban space is also the turf that people have fought for and in some way suffered for. It is meaningful because something happens there politically.
